Journeyman electrician
A journeyman electrician holds the Texas license that sits below master electrician, earned with supervised training hours and an exam.
TDLR's application says you must have at least 8,000 hours of on-the-job training under the supervision of a master electrician to receive a journeyman license. The application also requires passing the Texas journeyman electrician exam.
Journeymen do much of the field work and work under a master electrician. A master license requires holding a journeyman license for at least two years first. Verify any license with TDLR. See hire a licensed electrician in Texas.
