NFPA 70
NFPA 70 is the official standard number of the National Electrical Code, which NFPA publishes and revises every three years.
NFPA 70 is the formal name for the NEC. The National Fire Protection Association develops it through a consensus process. NFPA says compliance with the NEC helps protect people and property from electrical hazards, and that the code is used in all 50 states.
NFPA 70 has companions. NFPA 70E covers workplace electrical safety and NFPA 70B covers maintenance. Your city or state decides which edition applies. See hire a licensed electrician in Texas.
