Wiring and circuits
EMT
EMT, or electrical metallic tubing, is lightweight steel conduit used to protect wiring, especially in commercial buildings.
EMT is thin-wall steel tubing that houses wires. Wheatland Tube says its EMT is made from mild strip steel with a galvanized finish and an inside coating for corrosion resistance and easy wire pulling. It is listed to the UL-797 standard.
EMT is a type of conduit. It is not allowed everywhere: Oncor's guidelines say EMT is not acceptable for a service mast. The right choice depends on the location and the adopted code, so ask a licensed electrician. See commercial electrician services.
