Stab-Lok
Stab-Lok is the brand name for the circuit breakers Federal Pacific Electric made for its residential panels.
Stab-Lok is the Federal Pacific Electric (FPE) name for its residential breakers. The CPSC investigation focused mainly on two-pole residential breakers made before Reliance acquired FPE in 1979. The agency said it could not link the failures to a hazardous situation at that time, and it closed the case without a safety finding.
Stab-Lok breakers fit Federal Pacific panels. Do not remove a panel cover to look. A licensed electrician can identify the panel and test or replace it. The CPSC says to find out why any circuit breaker trips. See Federal Pacific panels and aluminum wiring.
